The Hadith of Ka’b bin Malik (RahiumuhAllah ta Ala) – A Story of Repentance

Saheeh al Bukhaaree Volume 5, Book 59, Number 702

Narrated ‘Abdullah ibn Ka’b bin Malik:

Who, from among Ka’b’s sons, was the guide of Ka’b when he became blind: I heard Ka’b bin Malik narrating the story of (the Ghazwa of) Tabuk in which he failed to take part.
Ka’b said, “I did not remain behind Allah’s Apostle in any ghazwa that he fought except the Ghazwa of Tabuk, and I failed to take part in the Ghazwa of Badr, but Allah did not admonish anyone who had not participated in it; for in fact, Allah’s Apostle had gone out in search of the caravan of Quraish till Allah made them (i.e. the Muslims) and their enemy meet without any appointment. I witnessed the night of Al-’Aqaba (pledge) with Allah’s Apostle when we pledged for Islam, and I would not exchange it for the Battle of Badr although the latter Badr was more popular amongst the people than it (i.e. Al-’Aqaba pledge). As for my news (in this Battle of Tabuk), I had never been stronger or wealthier than I was when I remained behind the Prophet in that ghazwa. Read more…

The Decline of The West

The Article below is an excerpt from the book, “Emerging World Order: The Islamic Khalifah State”

“The world is at a cross road. Our time is difficult. The present is unstable. But
Insha’Allah the future is bright. The signs of ‘American century’ coming to an
end are very clear. Anyone with profound knowledge can see this very
happening. America is becoming weak. She is weary. She is fragile. Her global reach
has been dented. Her global ambition is even challenged by countries like North
Korea. She does not solely control the world any more. She is stabbed by the apparent
rise of Russia and China. But there is an even bigger challenge she is facing; saving her
status quo in remaining in the reign of world’s only global state.
Compare American position between Afghan War and World War II. Never ever
American military might have been challenged so much. Her military is stretched.
From Asia Pacific to Atlantic, Middle East to Central Asia, American bases are
becoming less dominant. People are rejecting them. Even closest ally like Japan’s
public opinion is against the presence of her bases. Her military morale is at the
lowest. Deployed soldiers are refusing deployment and even happy to face court
martial. Read more…

Psy Ops – The Ugly Truth

March 24, 2012 2 comments

Psychology Warfare can be defined as “Various techniques are used, by any set of groups, and aimed to influence a target audience’s value systems, belief systems, emotions, motives, reasoning, or behavior. It is used to induce confessions or reinforce attitudes and behaviors favorable to the originator’s objectives. Target audiences can be governments, organizations, groups, and individuals.” This demonstrates the classical tool of modeling the target audience through utilizing Psychological techniques such as “observational learning” and “ classical conditioning.” These are components of the Social Learning Theory in contemporary psychology.

Governments such as USA depend on public opinion within and outside their nation to justify and approve their actions and simultaneously influence external attitudes to favor their objectives. This is demonstrated in their control of media outlets worldwide to shape or “condition” public opinion in favor of their strategic objectives. Read more…

Syria could lead to World War III – Younus Abdullah Muhammad

Hounds of War:  How Covert Intervention in Syria Could Lead To World War III

By Younus Abdullah Muhammad

The veto of Russia and China at the U.N. Security Council regarding Syria shocked the entire world.  The action prompted immediate tantrums from a U.S. hegemon in decline.   Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice reactively called the act disgusting while Secretary of State Hilary Clinton heightened the rhetoric with an analogy that compared the vote to a “Neutering” of the international body, apparently not realizing that adding imagery to Ms. Clinton’s statement unfortunately produced the awkward vision of the three remaining supportive members (U.S., U.K  and France) as a “barking dog without balls”, a more apt description of waning Western power to be sure.  Nevertheless there was no time to ponder such sophisticated diplomacy amidst a push to reassert Cold War conflict that may one day be recorded as the significant event that sparked World War III.

Syria Emergency Appeal

March 8, 2012 1 comment,PNI2,4LWX9H,22LFX,1

Syria is in turmoil. The cities of Homs and Damascus lay besieged. Families, unable to move, are suffering as food and medical supplies run out. They need desperate help.

During Mu’awiyah Radiallahu ‘anhu’s governorship of Syria, his forbearance and generosity meant families flocked to Syria to reside there. Today, families, under the hammer of oppression, have little food and support and seek to flee this blessed land.

The Messenger of Allah Salallahu ‘alaihu wasallam said,

‘Allah will aid a servant of His so long as the servant aids his brother.’ – Muslim

Ummah Welfare Trust has targeted widowed and orphaned families in Homs and Damascus for relief. With your generosity, the charity will provide emergency food rations that will last for many months inshaAllah. Surveys are also underway to assess medical needs on the ground.
Donors are being asked to give generously for our grief-stricken brothers and sisters in the land of Shaam. No doubt our wealth can never decrease when used in aid of the Ummah.,PNI2,4LWX9H,22LFX,1

Thanks to Islamic renaissance that has given impetus to the positive developments in the Muslim society, Islam as a complete code of life is increasingly emphasized. The present study is an attempt to find out correlation between social service and Islam the Godly Ordained Path. However, before we touch upon the Islamic concept of social service, its motives, the directives given and the measures required to be adopted, it would not be inapt to have a cursory view on the modern concept of social service.

Essentially social service is the beginning of an end to social problems which are the product of social living. A man prefers to live in groups due to socio-economic and psychological reasons. So long as mutual understanding, co-operation, love and respect among fellow beings perists, the collective living results in the formation of an ideal society. But as soon as ulterior motives, vicious designs, and cut-throat competition thwart the positive thinking and action, then the society gets engulfed with vices, ills and evils. The reign of ills and evils becomes a matter of social concern particularly to the conscious group of the society. The concern converts into action-social action. Social service or social work is thus a natural outcome of the awareness on the part of the people that a particular social situation is a threat and that the existing situation can be altered only by collective action.
